      Role: Email Marketing Operations Manager
      Location: Remote
      Contract

      RESPONSIBILITIES
      The Manager of Email Marketing Operations is responsible for the planning and execution of email campaigns across client family of brands. The position will cover the full scope of email communications including product and promotional emails, CRM initiatives, and testing initiatives.

      Specific Responsibilities:
      • Manage the email production process, working closely with the planning team, in receiving and trafficking requests, assigning production resources, organizing production assets, and providing real-time direction to email production vendors. Track production milestones to ensure timely delivery of campaign assets.
      • Effectively manage direct reports (team of marketers of varying experience levels, and email developers) to ensure optimal performance and results. Build a positive, proactive environment based on mutual respect, a high level of execution and excellent communication with team members and external resources. Effectively manage internal and external resources to identify and bring in all the appropriate expertise necessary to execute projects.
      • Facilitate production meetings to plan and prioritize requests and adjust course as necessary. Proactively address and resolve issues, campaign timing conflicts and communicate decisions to key stakeholders.
      • Evaluate and enhance processes to improve the execution of programs. Become the subject matter expert on email campaign operations distribute, communicate and apply best practices and learnings to continually improve results. Demonstrate a strong knowledge of external competitor activity and market trends to recommend process and overall program enhancements.
      • Work with strategy and testing team, to support strategic initiatives, by ensuring flawless execution of complex audience segmentation, testing and versioning.
      • Circulate draft and final proofs of campaigns to key stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and partner with production resources to ensure feedback is addressed. Work with internal and third-party partners to finalize campaigns for deployment.
      • Review and approve campaign test files, ensuring accuracy of counts, proper segmentation, and providing approval for deployment.
      • Conduct final QA of all emails, ensuring all links, images, subject lines, and list segments are accurate and working properly.
      • Analyze campaign results including open and click rates, sales results, coupon or promo code results; make recommendations to optimize campaign performance.
      • Support the testing and roll out of new email capabilities including segmentation, personalization, and creative template improvements. Recommend tests to optimize email results.
      • Understand email system configuration, vendor contributions, and complete data flow. Develop testing recommendations based on system capabilities and provide recommendations to improve vendor/platform performance.
      • Effectively manage direct reports to ensure optimal performance and results.       REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIOINS
      Client is seeking a highly motivated, pro-active, resourceful and results-oriented individual with a high level of enthusiasm and passion for retail marketing. The successful candidate will bring the following proficiencies and capabilities:
      • Bachelors degree with Marketing focus, M.B.A. preferred
      • Minimum of five to seven years email marketing experience within a retail or other fast-paced setting
      • Must have email production experience in a high-volume environment, and working with an enterprise-level Email Service Provider
      • Strong understanding of email best practices, including tools, technology, and KPIs. Comfortable with new technologies and concepts
      • Understanding of email database structure and technical processes (data flow, data repository, offer creation process)
      • Practical knowledge of HTML & CSS in order to effectively communicate with and manage developer team and understand executional capabilities
      • Experience working with campaign management/CRM data, to execute targeted audience list segmentation and highly personalized messaging
      • Experience implementing multi-variant testing strategies for both email and site optimization
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade others with diplomacy and tact; work with numerous partners of differing levels, flexing interaction style as required
      • Effective at managing up, to ensure alignment at all levels of the organization
      • Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.
      • Ability to respond with agility to changing market conditions and expedite processes when required
      • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
      • Strong retail business acumen and analytical skills
      • Overall ability to think strategically and translate strategy into successful marketing programs
